Paradise Valley by Dale Cramer

I'm a picky reader.  I get hooked on one author and won't read anyone else.  I also seem to get hooked into books about one thing and stick with them for, well, a long time.  For the past few years I have been reading christian fiction about the Amish.  There are a couple of authors I have read but no others.  Until now.

A few weeks ago I was presented the opportunity to read Paradise Valley by Dale Cramer.  Since I'm waiting for the new book by my favorite Amish fiction author to come out, I thought "why not."  I was a little leery of reading a book by a man.  Boy was I off!

As soon as this book arrived Friday afternoon (yesterday), I decided I'd at least read the first chapter and I'd try to finish it up in a week.  What a joke!  I read the first chapter and was immediately sucked in.  I HAD to read the next chapter...and the next...and the next.  All of this while my husband was driving our family around running errands.  I just could not put this book down.

What hooked me in the beginning was an issue of parental rights.  Oh my!  My heart ached for the families in the story.  As I continued to read, I was introduced to a little romance.  Just a little.  As I read on I discovered a story about family and love.  The love of a father for his children.  The love of friends for one another.  The love of a husband and his wife.  The love of God for His children.  A story of  hope and forgiveness.

A fair book, I will finish in several days.  This book was excellent and I finished it 2 days.  I just couldn't put it down.  I can't wait to read book two in The Daughters of Caleb Bender series.
